Byrum High Plains Guide Service is proud to be a family-owned and operated business for over 40 years. We're a third-generation hunting guide service, carrying on the tradition that started back in 1974 when our grandfather opened a duck and goose hunting camp. Today, we continue to share our love of the outdoors, offering expert hunting trips for both pheasant and waterfowl, right here in South Dakota.

Kids are always welcome, and we aim to provide a safe, family-friendly environment where everyone can have fun. Top-notch outfit. From the guides all the way down to the dogs, you won't find a better experience in the state of South Dakota. Dustin and Josh have great knowledge of the area, they always put you on the birds. They know where to go all day long. Have booked this trip 4 years in a row, I have never left South Dakota without my limit of birds and wonderful memories. I would put this place up against any other place in this state.

I hunted with Byrums High Plains Guide Service for the first time in 2016. I have hunted South Dakota many times before so I knew the hunting could be good. I just didn't know it could be this good. My group saw literally hundreds of pheasants each day. Josh and Dustin also took extra time to hunt some fields that were best for my young pointing dog and gave me valuable insight and training advice. Accommodations are first class and the food is excellent. We have already booked again for next year.
